Location

Situated north of Puerto Vallarta in Vallarta-Nayarit on the shores of famous Banderas Bay - Mexico’s largest natural bay - Villa del Palmar Flamingos is one of the newest properties on this stretch of unspoiled beach. A 1.25-mile walk up the beach or 4.5-mile drive away, the friendly town of Bucerías greets visitors with its quaint main plaza brimming with seafood restaurants and seaside clubs.

Description

Featuring Vanguard architecture with a fine Mexican touch, Villa del Palmar Flamingos’ distinctive eight-story Spanish Colonial-style buildings are topped with red-tile roofs and blue-tile domes. Bordering a central garden courtyard with freeform pool, the tan buildings form a U-shape looking out to the Bay of Banderas.

Accommodations

This upscale beachfront resort offers 275 ocean view suites overlooking Banderas Bay and the Pacific beyond. Hacienda-style private entryways feature solid maple wood finishes. Each suite is designed with marble flooring, whirlpool tub in the master bath (except junior suites), walk-in shower, separate dining area, and private ocean view balcony or ground floor terrace with wet bar.

Deluxe studio suites feature a kitchenette equipped with refrigerator, electric stovetop, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, dishes, cookware and utensils. Larger suites include a complete kitchen with full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, and laundry room with full-size washer and dryer.

Other in-suite amenities include individually-controlled central air conditioning, ceiling fans, flat-screen television, direct dial telephone with voice mail and Internet access, hair dryer, electronic safe, iron with ironing board, clock radio, washer/dryer, daily maid service, turndown service and in-room dining.

Dining

Bellavista Restaurant & Bar - An artful presentation of cuisines from Italy and California fuse in this elegant European-style setting. The casual beachside terrace opens to the sounds of waves lapping the shore and views of Banderas Bay. Serving buffet and à la carte breakfast and lunch, and choice of nightly themed buffet or à la carte dinner. Open daily for breakfast and lunch from 7:00am - 5:30pm, and dinner from 6:30 - 10:00pm.

La Trattoria - Sitting right on the ocean, this open-air restaurant serves Italian specialties prepared with Mediterranean flavors. Open each evening from 7:00pm, weather permitting.

Pizza Bar - Tucked amid lush tropical gardens, this casual eatery tempts with the aroma of gourmet pizzas baking in a traditional wood-burning oven. After cooling off in the pool, guests enjoy tropical ocean breezes under the shade of market umbrellas while gazing out at Flamingos Beach. Open daily for breakfast, light lunch and afternoon snacks from 11:00am - 6:00pm.

Lobby Bar - Open for evening cocktails, with entertainment Wednesday through Sunday.

Surrounded by gardens and decks, the property’s multi-level lagoon-style pool features splashing waterfalls, platforms for lounge chairs and a special section for children. Things heat up after the sun sets, thanks to a glowing fire pit that illuminates an oversized half-moon spa tub accommodating up to 30.

For the ultimate indulgence, the 17,000-square-foot Flamingos Spa pampers with massages, facials, hydrotherapies, body scrubs, wraps and salon service in an upscale European-style facility that’s the newest and largest in the region. Climate
The Nuevo Vallarta-Puerto Vallarta area enjoys a mild tropical climate year-round, with an average daily temperature of 80° F (27 ºC) and cooler evening temperatures in winter months.

Currency
The Mexican peso is the official currency. The exchange rate fluctuates, but banks are usually the best place to change money. American dollars are commonly accepted as well.
